Our Computer Information Technology diploma program provides a blend of online and hands-on training in current hardware and software, preparing students for in-demand, entry-level IT careers. Tuition includes employer-desired certification preparation and testing to earn the CompTIA A+ certification.

As a graduate, you will demonstrate system support skills focused on installing, administering and troubleshooting popular hardware and software.

As a student, you will demonstrate system support skills focused on installing, administering and troubleshooting popular hardware and software. You'll gain an understanding of the issues that impact IT administration, including professional, ethical, legal, security and social concerns.

Flexible Blended Learning to Help Balance Life and School

This program features a blend of online and on-campus learning. This is to help make going to school work with your busy schedule. Typically, you will spend 2 days on campus, where you can practice hands-on skills and ask your instructor questions. Complete the rest of your coursework online at home, at your own pace, and on your own time.

This course provides an overview of the field of local area networking and internetworking. You’ll be introduced to the terminology, operating systems, hardware, and administration of various components of a computer network, including network topology, TCP/IP, the OSI reference model, and network security, among others.

This course focuses on the software operating systems that run today’s personal computers. Emphasis will be placed on commands, functions, and terminology through practical instruction in the installation, configuration and upgrade of operating systems.

In this course, you’ll be introduced to a variety of successful customer service skills (soft-skills) that are needed when working in an IT service desk. Topics discussed in the course include how customer satisfaction is achieved, active listening, problem-solving strategies and dealing with difficult customers.

In this course, you’ll be introduced to a variety of hardware components and their related functions in personal devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices). Topics discussed in the course include diagnosing, troubleshooting, installing and repairing hardware, network connection, and associated devices.

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of the Microsoft Windows 10 client operating system. Through the use of hands-on labs, and assignments in the class, students will gain practical experience of the installation, administration, management, and troubleshooting of Windows 10.

In this course you’ll be introduced to the fundamental elements of the Linux OS. Topics include: System Architecture; Linux Installation and Package Management; GNU and Unix Commands; Devices, Linux Filesystems, and Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. This course will help to prepare you to become certified Linux professionals.

In this course, you’ll focus on preparing to take the 901 CompTIA A+ Certification Test. Concepts from CGS 1280 - Computer Hardware Systems will be reviewed in depth and students will be given the opportunity to review hardware concepts tested on the CompTIA exam.
